A Prayer for New Worship Space

Almighty God, our heavenly Father,

from whom all blessings flow,

we know that no building can contain your glory

 or display the wonders of your love.

And yet, we seek to honor you with a new worship space,

 not to contain the wonders of your love,

 but to offer a gathering place for people of good will

 to come together in praise and thanksgiving for your good gifts.

May this worship space be a place where...

when we worship, we worship gladly;

when we study, we learn your truth;

when we meet, the fellowship of the Holy Spirit is real and visible,

so that this space will stand as a sign of your Spirit

at work on this corner in your world,

and as a witness to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
