On behalf of the Vestry and Members of Olivet Episcopal Church, we welcome you to browse our web-site, and we wholeheartedly invite you to visit and worship with us. At Olivet, we think of ourselves and our mission as “A caring community that supports all people in finding new life in Jesus Christ.” With that in mind, I would share with you that, even though life today can be messy for individuals and for the churches of which they are comprised, and even though in recent years there has been much confusion over where churches are on the theological spectrum, here at Olivet our focus is and always will be on offering Christ Jesus and His life-changing power to all who enter our doors. Although there is great stability in the faith and we have God’s promise in Scripture that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8), our approach to the world about us needs to be relevant to the ever-changing lives and life-situations of the people in it. At Olivet, we try our best to maintain a balance between the constancy of Christ Jesus and the world’s continuing changes, and we do that by maintaining our focus on the Good News of Christ and its empowerment of people’s lives by and through the Holy Spirit. We hope one day to see you, to visit with you, to get to know you and you us, and to follow our mission as that “caring community” founded and centered on the Lord Jesus.
